John Young - Commander
Charles Duke - Lunar Module Pilot
Thomas "Ken" Mattingly - Command Module Pilot
Astronauts John Young and Charles Duke walked on the moon during the Apollo 16 mission in April 1972. They spent a total of 20 hours and 14 minutes outside the lunar module conducting experiments and collecting samples.
NASA did not build the aircraft for the Apollo missions. Instead, NASA used rockets and spacecraft to send astronauts to the moon during the Apollo program. The Apollo 16 mission used a Saturn V rocket to launch the spacecraft carrying the astronauts.
The number of astronauts varied in each Apollo mission. For Apollo 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, there were three astronauts. For Apollo 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17, there were four astronauts. Apollo 13 had initially planned for three astronauts, but one was replaced due to illness.
Apollo 16 was a manned mission to the moon in 1972, but it was not a lander. The mission included a lunar module that landed on the moon, which was used to explore the lunar surface by the astronauts.
Ten other American astronauts have walked on the moon after Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. These astronauts were part of the Apollo missions that followed Apollo 11, specifically Apollo 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17.
The question is not clear, there were three astronauts at a time in a Apollo mission , and there were 11 Apollo missions.
The astronauts entered the Apollo spacecraft by a hatch.
The Apollo 11 crew were in space for 8 days from July 16, 1969 to the 24th of July.
The Apollo missions to land on the moon successfully were Apollo11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17.
Yes after Apollo 11, there was Apollo 12, 14, , 15, 16, and 17. Only Apollo 13 did not land on the moon.
Yes all the Apollo astronauts were men.
The Apollo 13 astronauts were not on the space shuttle.
