They were all Jewish. Jesus was sent only to 'the lost sheep of Israel' (Matthew 15:24), then later he sent his followers to preach to the 'nations'(Acts 1:8)(Matthew 28:19)(Acts 10:1-35) .
Additional Comment:
The Sceptre Promise of a Savior was placed upon Judah (nicknamed Jews) by Israel, his father. At the time of Christ, the Northern Kingdom of Israel was captive and dispersed by the Assyrian Empire in 722-718 BC, never to return until Christ comes again. So Israel was primarily peoples of the tribe of Judah, many of Levi, and many of Benjamin and Simeon.
Jesus did send His Apostles (Jews) to the lost sheep of Israel and perhaps His Father had already made known to these tribes of His birth - thinking Wise Men (Magi). Josephus notes a large mass of people beyond count, living not too far away from Israel and called them the lost 10 tribes. Some scholars say these were the Parthian Empire - ruling people at time of His life. They also believe the Magi came from this Empire.
tax collecters, fisherman, thieves, liars... but God still loved them no matter what they did.
i'm pretty sure they all had something to do before Jesus asked them to be his disciples.
They immediately followed Him.
He did. There were women, such as Mary Magdalene, who followed or supported Jesus.
And Jesus got up and followed him (Jairus), with his disciples. (Matthew 9:19)
Jesus.
These were called both disciples and apostles.
the disciples followed Jesus and did what Jesus said. Jesus picked his disciples. The disciples were ordinary people. Jesus doesn't only like the people who are rich and successfully. he loves us all equally, no matter who we are or what we look like, he made us all and saw that we were good
Jesus' disciples
his disciples, before Jesus ascended into heaven
Disciples, also known as the Apostles, were the small group of men that followed Jesus Christ before His death on the cross.
Yes, according to the Bible, when Jesus was arrested, his disciples deserted him and fled. This is mentioned in the Gospel accounts of Jesus' arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane. However, some of them later returned and followed from a distance.
They all faithly remained Jesus disciples after his death.
