The Apollo 11 astronauts were Neil Armstrong, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, and Michael Collins. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first to land on the moon. However, the first manned mission to the moon (which did NOT land, but whose astronauts were the first men to see the dark side of the moon directly), was Apollo 8. Its astronauts were James Lovell, Frank Borman, and William Anders.
