I'm actually doing a task on the cotton gin at school at the momment so i hope this helps Before Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin it was very hard and took a lot of time to seperate the seeds from the cotton that people used so the cotton gin made it a lot easier and was quicker, it actually seperated the amount of cotton that 50 men could in one day.
