In my opinion two battles had the greatest impact on the outcome of Revolutionary War: 1 - Saratoga, because the victory of the Continental Army and the capture of a British Army convbinced France to intervene in the conflict on the American side. 2 - Yorktown, because the victory of the American-French allied army and the surrendering of Cornwallis' army made the British to give up further military actions against the 13 Colonies.
The most important, I believe, was George S. Patton, one of the greatest generals in American history. Read up on him in the book "Patton" in the Great Generals series.
One of the most important battles of the Revolution was the battle of Saratoga, in which the Continental Army captured all of Burgoynes army, a force of over 7,000. This is the battle that made Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold such famous generals. Technically, there were two battles of Saratoga. More info can be found at Wikipedia.

The greatest foreign military aid to General George Washington was the Marquis de Lafayette, a French nobleman who played a crucial role in the American Revolutionary War. Lafayette provided strategic leadership, secured French military support, and helped to train American troops. His close relationship with Washington and his commitment to the American cause significantly bolstered the Continental Army's efforts against British forces. Additionally, French military assistance, including troops and naval support, was vital to the success of the American Revolution.
