The Union Army won the Battle of Chattanooga. The victory opened the gate for the invasion of Georgia and the campaign for the conquest of Atlanta.
Because when the southern colonies won they began making the USA so they decided to make Georgia bigger.
The Union forces under General Sherman won the Battle of Atlanta. When General Hood left the area, he burned many buildings. When Sherman took over Atlanta, hundreds more businesses and homes were burnt.
