Yes. The way it works in most cases is that you pay FICA taxes in the amount of 6.2% of your gross income and your employer also pays the same amount. Also you are required to pay 1.45% of your gross income for Medicare tax and your employer also matches that amount. So in total you are paying for half of these two taxes and your employer pays for half of the total taxes for these two taxes.
When filing your free federal tax return, be sure to pay the full amount you owe to the IRS. If you fail to pay the full amount, then the IRS may have a reason to send you an audit notice. Receiving an audit notice is never a fun experience for anyone. To avoid this unfortunate situation, paying your taxes in full is a must. If you absolutely can not afford to pay your taxes, then you need to consult with an IRS professional and figure out a payment schedule that works for you. In only rare cases can people have the opportunity to repay taxes on a payment plan.
Yes, to the extent that there has been an increase over the amount paid into the policy. It works similiar to an IRA and you will receive a 1099-R form for reporting purposes of paying income taxes on the amount if you surrender the policy to withdraw the entire cash value. However, many whole life policies have a provision that allows you to borrow from the cash value up to a certain amount without having to pay taxes. You will pay a small amount of interest on the amount borrowed but you really don't have to ever pay it back. If you don't pay it back the amount owed will be deducted from the death benefit when you die. I suggest you check with the company before doing any of this to make sure I am correct as different policies have different provisions on borrowing.
The government originally used taxes in order to pay for army debt in the Revolutionary Era. Taxes were supposed to be abolished at one point in history, but they stuck around to pay for schools, government programs, and public works programs.
If you are unmarried and have no income you do not need to file. If you have a spouse that works then you must file a joint return.

I am a permanent resident in the US and I pay taxes just like everyone else (income, property, sales...etc) I just don't have all the rights as American Citizens do. So I am legal, just not a citizen yet. The illegals on the other hand don't pay federal taxes because they only work for cash. Anybody that works legally, even if they just have a working permit, but no residency status in the US, has to pay taxes.
Yes they do ! Everyone who works has to pay tax !
