Halloween, or All Hallows Eve is the night before All Saints Day (Nov. 1). Kids go trick-or-treating on Halloween night, unless you're in the S.E. United States, and 10-31 happens to be a Sunday. It seems that dressing up as a goblin on Christian Sabbath is taboo, so kids are forced to T/T on the night before the night before All Saints Day.
