I am guessing you are talking about Romeo + Juliet (1996) that was written by Craig Pearce and Baz Luhrmann based on the play written by William Shakespeare. Still, the screenplay used much of Shakespeare's original lines.
The director of the 1996 movie with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes is Australian Baz Luhrmann. This movie is part of his Red Curtain Trilogy. The trilogy comprised of Romeo and Juliet, Moulin Rouge and Strictly Ballroom.
Franco Zeffirelli directed the 1968 movie, and Renato Castellone directed the one from 1954. George Cuckor directed the 1936 Hollywood version, with John Barrymore as a splendid Mercutio.
In Shakespeare's time, women were not allowed to act. Women's roles were all played by men. Richard Burage, Richard Cowley, and William Kemp were the most famous actors of that time.

There are no cast lists from any sixteenth-century productions of the play, but since it was a Shakespeare play and therefore belonged to the Lord Chamberlain's Men we can guess. We actually do not have to guess about who played the part of Peter, since the Quarto version tells us that this part was played by Will Kempe, the famous comedian and dancer. Richard Burbage was the star actor and therefore probably played Romeo. Shakespeare was known for his "kingly roles" (his bald head made him look older) and so may have played Escalus. His friends and contemporaries Heminges and Condell may have played Benvolio, Tybalt, Mercutio or Paris. Thomas Pope and Augustine Phillips, older actors, may have played the nurse and Capulet. Unfortunately we don't know the name of the boy who first played Juliet.
Franco Zefferelli produced and directed the 1968 movie "Romeo and Juliet.", which is possibly what you are thinking of.

Romeo and Juliet is not a foundation. It is not a bank which we can say was founded in such and such a year. Shakespeare probably wrote his play of this name around 1595. Besides being the name of a play, Romeo and Juliet is the name of several stories, a poem, a ballet, an opera, a symphonic poem, and several movies. But not a bank.
