== == C.S. Lewis wrote "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" as part of the Chronicles of Narnia. This series is a seven part series that takes place in the magical land of Narnia. He wrote all seven books in a mere 6 years. The book's symbolism is that Aslan resembles Jesus. When he was sacrificed on the table, a willing, innocent victim in place of a traitor, it resembled Christ's crucifixion from the Bible. Another example is that he saved all of his people from the evil devil-like person, the white witch.

There are many different heroes in the Lion.

Peter Pevensie, Susan, Edmund and Lucy. Then there's Aslan and Tumnus and Oreious the centaur and the beavers.

Consider the qualities of a hero. Heroes are courageous, noble, honest, good, intelligent and - ultimately - self-sacrificing. In this instance, the real hero is Aslan.

Peter, Lucy and Susan all show heroic qualities of courage and bravery. Even Edmund at the end shows heroic qualities when he breaks the witch's wand at great risk to himself.

All the forces that battled against the White Witch were heroes. They all did so at personal risk, some of them even dying in the battle. This is what makes them heroes.
