While Mr. Pizzarelli has added countless layers of celebrity "versions" of the song (e.g. Billie Holiday, Madeleine Peyroux, Lou Rawls, Johnny Cash, James Taylor, Michael McDonald), the original tune was written by Mr. Cosgriff and recorded in the early '80s by Mr. Bernardi.
