Why was Hephaestus a god?
Hephaestus was the child of Hera and Zeus, whom were both gods. So that made him a pure god already. He was the god of craftsmanship, blacksmith, fire and 'technology' - not like our modern technology -. He was in charge of making the weapons and armor for the gods. Who could better suite a god, than a god ?

Hephaestus has mommy issues because she has attempted to kill on multiple occasions because if his looks, this only made it work.
