If the other party was clearly at fault in hitting your vehicle then their insurance will pay for the damage to your vehicle. The key is that it is their fault. The way you word the question you don't state that they were at fault but that they hit your car. If it is determined that they were at fault then their insurance pays, if you were at fault then your insurance pays.
Being a guest in someone's house has nothing to do with car insurance. If someone backs into your car then their car insurance is responsible.

Whose fault did the cop say it was? There should have been a police report! Pedestrians always have the right of way. Bicycles are supposed to observe all traffic laws. Still, there are exceptions. It will depend on local ordinance.
It would be your fault, because you don't have the right to pull out right away. The car on the street does have the right to keep going though. You are supposed to wait until there is a gap in traffic .
