to deter people from it
It may be because they are ill, or cannot be treated and the only humane option being to put the dog down.
Putting dogs down is a last resort and it only happens if dogs have no chance of getting a home or the shelter is overcrowded and they feel that this dog/cat has been here too long it will be euthanized or put to sleep it is painless and it is usually done by the dog putting on fa mask and they will put a gaseous drug into it and the dog will breathe it in and go to sleep
First, put the smallest to sleep. Make sure it is comfortable, preferably put it in a crib. Then put the biggest to sleep
According to a 2011 Humane Society of the United States survey, four million cats and dogs from US shelters are put to sleep every year. According to statistics of the same survey, one animal is out to sleep every eight seconds. The ASPCA also did a survey, determining that only one out of every three shelter dogs gets adopted, and two are put to sleep; so two thirds of shelter dogs are put to sleep . Depressing, I know.
Around 3 million dogs are put down each year. There isn't a record for the amount of each breed put to sleep each year.
Ther are 20,000 dogs put down in one week for dog fighting and 400,000 in one year for dog fighting.
Dogs may put their heads on the floor to rest, cool down, or relieve pressure on their necks. It is a common behavior for dogs to find a comfortable position to relax or sleep.
You can take them to the vet and have them put to sleep
you can't
by the side
Pounds put dogs to sleep because there is either over crowding of dogs in the shelter or pound or the dog is sick and can't be helped so they put it out of its suffering. I don't like the idea of putting down a dog that is perfectly healthy or any animal for that matter but they do it anyway. This is the best answer I can give. Hope it helps. And that the dog could be to mean. And they unfortunately, can't do anything for the case but put them down.
