It depends on how large it is and what it is made of.
you can not delete the folder from command prompt if it is not empty.. if the folder is empty then use rd <foldername> and press enter.. or use deltree command.. deltree <foldername> and press enter..
left click on the desired folder and it will say: new folder, rename, remove, mark all read, empty spam, and empty trash. click on remove and it will ask you if you really want to permanently delete it. click yes
A new (but empty) folder in Windows occupies just 2K of disk space.

I normally export the file as a web page into an empty folder, then the image will be put in that folder in its full resolution.
Just open Finder and then right click/ctrl click on empty space and select "New folder". Also, you can click on the gear icon located at the top of the window and select "New folder"
