That would be a problem with the solenoid for the lock up converter. Start with checking the fuses. If the fuses check okay the lock up solenoid or wiring circuit is probably bad. That solenoid is located inside the transmission and can be reached by dropping the trans pan.
The shift linkage on your Chevrolet Blazer automatic transmission will go from the shifting handle to the right hand side of the transmission. The shifting linkage is actually a shifting cable.
the linkage to the transmmison probably needs to be adjusted
Are you sure that it's third it's not shifting into, and not fourth? The transmission is designed to not permit shifts into fourth (overdrive) until the engine and transmission have warmed up a bit.
You can't shift gears on an automatic transmission because, as it is called, it's automatic! You don't need to shift, it does it for you. == == Maybe the question should be "Why is my automatic transmission not shifting through gears for me as it should?" Could it be a fairly simlpe fix or am I losing my transmission? Yeah Dopey!
The shift solenoid on your 1994 Chevrolet Blazer, is located on the top of the transmission. The solenoid will be labeled.
Is it an automatic or manual if it's an automatic you may have a bad u joints and same for manual, as well as synchronizing gears may cause it to be hard to shift. Otherwise i'd say it's your u-joints
It can come with either one. But the standard is an automatic transmission.
Not if you have an automatic transmission.
electronic solenoid
An automatic transmission shift valve is like a swing. It is moves back and forth with the use of pressure. That is how gears are changed.
An automatic transmission modulator is the device that decides when your vehicle should shift. It basically controls and regulates pressure for smooth operation of the automatic transmission.
It is bolted into the valve body in the transmission. You will have to remove the transmission pan that is bolted to the bottom of the transmission to service the shift solenoids.
