The UK are in the European Union. They do not use the Euro, along with 9 other European Union countries. It was their choice not to join it. No one is preventing them from doing so.

Because the majority of British people wanted to take back their independence from the EU. There are many cons and pros depending on your point of view, but the majority won the referendum.
