Why is ICl used in the electrophilic aromatic iodination reaction rather than I 2?

Due to electronegativity difference between Iodine and chloride (chlorine is more electronegative), Iodo has delta positive charge and thus electrophilic reagent. I2 also form hypervalent I with delta positive charge, but ICl is compartively better in generating I with delta positive charge.

Is ICL dipole dipole?

yes

What are examples of compounds?

Aspirin, salt, sugar, water, milk, baking soda, flour, steel, and more are examples of compounds. LiI and NH4CL are salts so ionic compound ICl and SO2 are covalent so nonionic compound. A chemical compound is formed when two or more elements react to form a chemically combined substance which has different chemical and physical properties than the elements from which it was formed. An example of a compound is water (H2O) which is formed from two elements, Hydrogen and Oxygen, which are both gases at room temperature but water is a liquid at room temperature.

Why the sodium chloride is named as NACL?

In the case of NaCl.the valency of sodium and chloride is two.so you dont have to specify it.but where as in Icl the valency different so you call it as iodine monochloride.to denote the presence of single chloride atom. Sodium chloride is an ionic compound, so you don't write 'mono' 'di' 'tri' etc. in the name. MgCl2 would simply be magnesium chloride, not magnesium dichloride. Covalent compounds such as ICl sometimes have 'mono' 'di' or 'tri' in their name, but ionic compounds don't. == == == == == ==

What direction do surface currents move in the Northern Hemisphere?

The most prevalent wind pattern in the temperate zones of the northern hemisphere is from west to east. High pressure systems generally produce a moderate clockwise rotation of wind. Low pressure systems produce a counterclockwise rotation. Several very large areas of the northern hemisphere have very different norms because of the disruption to airflow caused by the Himalayan Mountains in Asia. Winds in the tropical areas of the northern hemisphere have patterns different from those in the temperate zones.

Of course IPL is much famous than ICL ! That is only because IPL has got more money than ICL. Otherwise IPL only stole the idea from ICL !

What are 25.4 g of iodine and 14.2 g of cl made to react completely to yield a mixture of icl and icl3 cal the no of moles of icl and icl3?

I2 + 2Cl2 .==> ICl + ICl3 molar mass of I2 = 127 molar mass of Cl2 = 70.9 moles of I2 used = 25.4/127 = 0.2 moles of I2 moles of Cl2 used = 14.2/70.9 = 0.2 moles of Cl2 Since the stoichiometry indicates that each mole of I2 reacts with 2 moles of Cl2 to give 1 mole each of ICl and ICl3, you should get 0.1 moles of each product. The reason you don't get 0.2 moles is because the amount of I2 is limiting, and you can see that 2 moles of Cl2 will use up 1 mole of I2, so 0.2 moles of Cl2 will use up 0.1 moles of I2. So 0.1 moles of product is all you can get under these conditions

What is full form of ICL?

icl

Who is the icl champion?

Last ICL champion was Hyderabad Heroes

What is ICl name?

Iodine Monochloride is the name for ICl.

How can you prepare Iodine monochloride?

Preparation of iodine monochloride entails simply combining the halogens in a 1:1 molar ratio, according to the equation :- I2 + Cl2 → 2 ICl (iodine) + (chlorine) → (iodine monochloride)

Is ICl polar?

Iodine chloride is polar, since chlorine has a higher electronegativity than iodine has.

What is the oxidation state of ICl?

Iodine Monochloride (ICl) oxidation states : => Iodine = +1 => Chlorine = -1
