Janani Suraksha Yojana is a Center govt sponsored scheme for young, poor pregnant ladies in our nation.

It is a one time cash incentive scheme, to encourage, Institutional deliveries, In rural and some poor urban households, the child birth(Delivery) is done in home by old ladies only, this in turn increases death of child and mother in some complicated issues, where, higher medical treatment is required.

So, to make Deliveries in medical institutions like primary health care centers(PHCs) and bring down maternal mortality rate and Infant Mortality Rate, Janani Suraksha Yojana is very very important.

Healthy mother and baby ---> Healthy Population ---> less expense for diseases ---> better productive activities by healthy citizens ---> better economy ---> improved Gross National Happiness :) :) :)
