/the water circulating noise could be low coolant in the system. If the coolant is bubbling in the overflow bottle, then check for a blown head gasket causing the noise.
When it is time to change the brakes on your 2001 Mitsubishi Montero, they will make noises. There could be a grinding or squealing noise that you will hear.
worn pads, calipers sticking or disks warped, more than likely pads though

There is 3 clips that hold the windshield molding on each side. Check to make sure that they are holding the trim in place. If they are broken you can order them from your dealer or from a glass shop.
Allah created our ears in a special way that we don't hear any cackling or sounds that will disturb us. Even though blood in our body makes noise when circulating and the earth makes a bit noise when rotating but Allah made our ears special so the noises won't disturb us. The only noise that disturbs us the one human makes like loud music or machines.
It could be the rear differential--there was a recall on this back in 2005--hope this helps

There's a plastic cable with teeth inside your antenna. A gear in the antenna base engages this "cable" and pushes/pulls the antenna. Sounds like either the gear or cable has some broken teeth. It won't hurt for the motor to keep going like this, but your antenna may break at any time. hth, K All true, and new antennas are fairly cheap <$40 and easy to install http://www.antennamastsrus.com/Mitsubishi/Montero%20Sport/Mitsubishi%20Montero%20Sport%201997-2004.htm
