I use photoshop files quite often and sometimes I consequently have some problems with theirs. Last time I accidentally found out a not bad tool for solving such problems and probably for resolving current issue.
to create new image , first open photoshop , then file->new
Open Photoshop then press File -> New
File > New and for Contents choose White
Because new version of Photoshop have features not available in previous versions, this does not mean you can not open file from new version in some of previous but mean that features not available in previous versions will be rasterized and flattened. To ensure that anyone can open PSD file in previous version turn on Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility when saving file (Edit > Preferences > File Handling).
Locate the Adobe Photoshop folder on your computer hard drive, and then open it. Find a folder named Presets and click it. There are six folders were Photoshop tool files are stored. Open the one labeled Brushes; place the new brush file with the .abr. extension in it. In the brush setting in Photoshop, find Load Brushes, click the file and press open. You can now select it for use.
If you mean an animated .gif file, then in Photoshop, you cannot. [It will only save one frame] But, when you install Photoshop, another program is automatically installed -- Adobe Image Ready. With ImageReady, you can create and save animations. Search through your programs and find ImageReady. Open it, create a new document, [File / New] paste the animation, and go to File / Save Optimized As. Choose a name, click Save, and you're done. TO open it, go to File / Open and type in the name or scroll down to find the animation.
Use Photoshop, open-->file-->new: you can set the width and height by yourself.
Yes you can. Open jpg in image editing program like Photoshop then save it as a new gif file.
Open the file in Photoshop (I use Elements 7.0) and select the parts you want individual. Copy and Paste each individual selection into a new file and save.
You cant, probably best workaround is a new layer and draw lines physicly above the guild lines...
Start Photoshop then look at left upper corner of screen, click on File to expand and show you options then click on New.
For sure, who will buy new version if can not work with files from previous. You must enable maximize psd file compatibility in Preferences > File Handling or when saving document in Ps CS5 to be compatibile and all features readable in previous versions.
