The TIP staff will occasionally prune the membership list to suspend any inactive members.

Inactivity is defined as not actively contributing to the website or to the program.

We need to do this so we can keep the program up to date and organised. Inactive members clog up the program's membership database, which makes it a chore for the TIP Supervisors to have to work through. It also helps us to identify any contributors who are still actively interested in becoming a Supervisor on Answers.

TIP members who were suspended due to inactivity are welcome to re-apply when they feel they would like to return.

Why am I no longer a member of The Initiates Program?

If you find that you are no longer a member of The Initiates Program, you should have received a message from a TIP Supervisor explaining why. You may have been temporarily suspended, or "frozen" because you were inactive. Inactive TIP members are often frozen to make space in the records for newer and active members. However you are very welcome to re-join the program. In serious circumstances, you may have been terminated. A termination is issued if you have committed a serious violation of the guidelines or ToU. It may also be issued if you constantly disregard the non-serious guidelines, have mislead the TIP team (therefore are untrustworthy), or you may have been very impolite to others. You may appeal against a termination, but it is down to the TIP team to decide if you should be allowed back into the program. If you believe there is an error, mistake or website glitch causing your membership to drop, please get in touch with a TIP supervisor.

Do I lose any of my badges if I join The Initiates Program?

No, you will not lose any of your current badges if you join The Initiates Program. However, if you are promoted to Supervisor when you graduate, the TIP member badge is removed from your profile, since by graduating from the program you are no longer a TIP member. Also if you are a premier answerer, you will lose the premier answerer badge when you become a Supervisor, because due to technicalities you can only have either the premier answerer or supervisor badge.

Where is your WikiGuide badge?

If you are an active member of Community Outreach, your WikiGuide badge is in the status section on the right side of your profile. If you were once a WikiGuide and your badge is no longer on your profile, you probably were removed from the Community Outreach program. Previously, WikiGuides were removed from the program if they went inactive for two months.

Yes. TIP members are not invincible or above the rules an any way and they are treated exactly the same as any non-TIP member. Constant violation of the rules will eventually lead in termination from the program and a block from accessing the website.

Can a member of The Initiates Program be warned by a Supervisor?

Yes, they can be. Tip members (and supervisors for that matter) are not above the guidelines or ToU. They can still be warned and blocked for violations. If you are a TIP member, please inform us if you have a warning, it's not uncommon for Supervisors to be mistaken. If you are a supervisor, please let TIP know if a TIP member has been warned, as it will need to be recorded and taken into account upon their graduation.
