if you hate your life. You dont necceserily have to wear black things or cut yourself. but emo stands for emotional. so if your emotional, you might be emo.

Don't cut yourself, its wrong. I used to do that. But, don't feel bad, you are only emo because of something bad that happened in your life. You should try writing in a diary or talking to a theripst.

Okay, you are emo because of something that happened to you in your life and you need to find a way to cope. (i know what i am talking about, i am too :P ) You really need to be more specific, because we don't know if you are saying you cut yourself or not. If you do: Stop or try to stop, it can get REALLY addicting REALLY fast. If you are already addicted to cutting yourself, then step it down a little, still do the pain thing but don't cut. Try a rubberband snap or chew the end of a mechanical pencil until it is sharp then scratch yourself with it. You shouldn't bleed right away, but it might happen later. This allows you to have the pain and not be in danger at the same time. Sorry, but diaries or journals and therapy don't work. If you are just depressed, take some depression medicine, listen to different music to cheer you up or don't sit in a dark room by yourself. DITCH THE KNIFE. If you do not: then all you need to do is change a little. You need to look at the glass as half full sometimes, not always half empty, you know what i am saying? And cutting yourself is dangerous, but don't completely drive yourself insane by stopping in one day, take baby steps. Hope this helps.

It depends your definition of emo,

Emo is just short for emotional (EMOtional)

A emo person is just a emotional person,or someone with mood swings. Probably changing emotions a lot.

If you have the cuts themselves are saddened and cry and stuff,then you have the stereo type.
