metal? emo?
'emo' and 'metalcore' are different genres
'emo' being 'emotional rock'
Yes A Vain Attempt is Emo/Emocore that uses alot of expressing growling vocals from metalcore. But overall they are an emo band from Sweden.
No. The Devil Wears Prada is Metalcore... the good kind. Emo bands wear too much eye makeup and take things more seriously. like black veil brides. In fact have you even heard of a emo christian band? Didn't think so!
Eh... Personally I'd say neither. They are metalcore with synth elements. Metalcore is a fusion of metal and punk/hardcore elements. Some metalcore bands lean more towards metal, others don't. I'd say AA doesn't. They're more on the post-hardcore side. Screamo is different. Screamo is a fusion of emo and hardcore, of which Asking Alexandria is neither. Hope I helped!
Motionless in White is a metalcore band. Whether emo's listen to it or not depends on the people. They're not typically an emo band, althought the majority of people nowadays do not understand what "emo" music is. It could be listened to by what society incorrectly considers emo though. It is not typically a band listened to by metalheads (not saying you can't be a metalhead and listen to them, metalheads are all about diversity). They are certainly not a Goth band, they are a world apart from Bauhaus, Christian Death or Sisters of Mercy.
The best type of music is most definatly hardcore/death metal/post hardcore/emo/screamo/metal/metalcore/alternative/rock or any combination of those.
Catherine - metalcore band - ended in 2009.
Catherine - metalcore band - was created in 2003.
No, they are not. Metalcore is simply a mixture of thrash metal and hardcore punk. Gothic rock is a dark version of punk rock, not to be confused with emo, which is simply punk rock with emotional lyrics. They are not gothic, they are more of emo, as they have emotional lyrics but not dark imagery. Another thing is that neither Bullet for My Valentine nor Avenged Sevenfold have a keyboard player, which is common in gothic music. Was i the one who wrote this question? Cause if so, i think i was pretty dumb before. I pretty much know all of this now. I know that they are Metalcore and its the combinstion of Thrash/Extreme Metal and Harcore Punk like you said, but the emotional lyrics i dont think is mandetory, most of these two bands use emotional lyrics in their Metalcore songs but the reason i dont think it is MANDETORY, is because if it NEEDED emotional lyrics, it would've come from Screamo instead of Hardcore Punk, Screamo is obviously like a combination of Hardcore and Emo
UnderØath is NØT an EMO band?! They dnt sing about how sad, tired, angry, etc. life is and how it would be better to just end your days! In fact, UnderØath is a Christian metalcore/ posthardcore band into a fluid, dynamic, and a more energized rock type of music with a lot of messages that actually make sense!
According to Wikipedia they are an Alternative rock, emo, pop punk band. Though from being a fan for 3 years, and listening to all of their albums I would venture to say they are more Alternative rock/ pop punk more than emo.
Bullet for My Valentine is a metalcore band. The band is from Wales, United Kingdom.
