Rekha on the otherhand was a big fat woman from south working in mostly B grade low budget movies with outdated actors. Only when she got into diet control and yoga which resulted her turning into a mermaid and get casted alongside A listed superstars. Very soon Amitabh and Rekha fell for each other which started a relationship which continued for 8 long years during which Amitabh would spend nights after nights at her apartment coming in his ambassador car.

Jaya tried all her means but could not get him back. With Dharmendra marrying Hema as his second wife, Rekha became overconfident and came to a party in 80s wearing sindoor and mangalsutra. Jaya lost her temper but Rekha gave her back all that she could in the party in front of all the guests and media. It also triggerred the speculation that it was his pressure and not some "divine act" that the lady could not get pregnant before 2011. Nowadays with motherhood they have put the past behind and live a simple life because she loves it!
