Because of Humans. Ancient Chinese Medicine believes that Tigers body parts have medicinal properties. Because of this Tigers were killed extensively and indiscriminately. Because of this, they were pushed to near extinction. India, China and all neighboring countries where the Bengal Tiger lives have banned hunting and so, the tiger population is slowly recovering

They are endangered because Chinese people believe tigers have medicinal properties. They grind their bones into powders and put their privates into soup. Of course, this is wrong, but the Chinese have a hard time catching these criminals. Some of these operations actually are in the United States. They hunt the tigers even though it is illegal. If someone asks you if you want ancient Chinese medicine, DON'T BUY IT because it is probably made of tiger parts, and who wants to eat that?
