Ovens are fit loosely as they need the space for more air so they can cook quicker
Oven shelves contract while cold. When heat is introduced, they expand (or grow larger) and can damage your oven walls.
Due to cold weather the shelves contract in size so don't fit tight
It is important to adjust the shelves to the correct position before lighting the oven because it is safer to do so whilst the oven is cold and doing that, you would not put yourself at that much risk of getting burnt as when you are adjusting the shelves whilst the oven is hot. Whether you are doing this whilst the oven is cold or hot, still wear oven gloves! It really is common sense because if you needed to adjust the shelves but you already turned the oven on and you could feel the heat and knew the oven was really hot, you wouldn't put your hand in there to adjust the shelves anyway.
It is when your clothes are a little loose but still fit you.
6 shelves.
yes
It depends partly on what the walls are made of. Books are very heavy, so shelves must be strong. I prefer to drill into the wall (preferably where studs are in a wallboard wall) and insert 3" long dowels to fit matching holes in the back of the shelves, then after inserting the shelves, fit one or two wood supports ( matching the shelves) onto the front of the shelves. I have built many bookshelves this way, my latest holding over 1,200 pounds of books on 5 shelves.
Majority of the Maytag double oven (gas) should fit into a space built for a regular standard oven (gas) except for one or two larger size Maytag double oven(gas).
It could fit, but it will be loose.

So that you don't loose too much heat from the oven.
I was afraid that the key would not work because it was such a loose fit in the lock.
