brake paddle isn't pressing down the botton that switches off the brake light . you may have to adjust the brake paddle's distance to allow it to press and hold down that botton.

Nissan cars have 1 or 2 rubber grommets located under the dash next to the brake pedal. The rubber grommets get old and fall out from time to time. They need to be replaced. "cost about 3.50 each from Nissan dealer." hope this helps
A bulb that is bad or full of water may cause fog lights not to work on a 1991 Nissan pathfinder. The light may not work because of a bad switch or blown fuse.
You may have to replace the headlight switch since your tail lights are tied into the same switch.
You need to bleed the clutch
If by 'controller' you mean the switch that makes the brake lights come on, it is not in the trunk. It is located underneath the dashboard, next to the brake pedal.
There is a rubber insert at the top of the brake pedal lever that has probably broken apart due to age. Without this insert the brake light switch can't turn off. You can buy a replacement insert from the dealership for about $4 and install it with your fingers.

You need a new brake pedal stop, your's is broken. It goes in the pedal under the dash. It's just a plastic button and costs about three dollars at the dealer.
Check the brake switch located on your brake pedal shaft. May have to be replaced.
