Reverend Donald Cozzens (The Changing Face of the Catholic Priesthood) cites studies from studies in 1989, that 48.5 per cent of Catholic priests are gay. Boisvert and Goss (Gay Catholic Priests and Clerical Sexual Misconduct) explain that the Catholic Church is an intensely homoerotic culture.
I don't think all of them are. Some, probably, but not all.

Reverend Donald Cozzens (The Changing Face of the Catholic Priesthood) cites studies from studies in 1989, that only 48.5 per cent of Catholic priests are gay, and it is unlikely that this proportion has increased significantly in the following 24 years. Boisvert and Goss (Gay Catholic Priests and Clerical Sexual Misconduct) explain that the Catholic Church is an intensely homoerotic culture, so in spite of the Church's strident homophobic statements, it remains attractive to homosexual seminarians.
Another answer from our community:
The official stand of the Church is that any homosexual person does not have an authentic vocation. The reality is , we have know some in the religious life whom we suspected were gay. If they live the rule of their order, have no sexual contact with anyone, [which is expected of all those who have taken Holy Vows] and do not advocate or preach contrary to the Church, it's kind of an " Oh, well," thing. But in truth they are less effective and less trusted than others. but we who suspect this try not to be judgemental about it.
Some are, most are not; same as any other occupation or ministry.

Reverend Donald Cozzens (The Changing Face of the Catholic Priesthood) cites studies from studies in 1989, that 48.5 per cent of Catholic priests are gay. The proportion of Anglican/Episcopal gay priests may be lower, as the Anglican communion permits married clergy. Boisvert and Goss (Gay Catholic Priests and Clerical Sexual Misconduct) explain that the Catholic Church is an intensely homoerotic culture.
Statistics on homosexuality among Catholic priests are hard to come by, apart from some studies in 1989, that show 48.5 per cent of Catholic priests are gay. Anecdotal support for these statistics are provided by a study of HIV infections among Catholic priests, who are generally unlikely to be intravenous drug users. Judy Thomas reported in the Kansas City Star on nearly 400 priests who died from AIDS. She found that this was at a rate four times as high as among the general gay population.
No. Actually, the last few popes have indicated that people with deep homosexual tendencies should not be admitted to the priesthood.
There is no search for gay priests, so there are no records of the number of gay priests discovered.
As you know, Catholic Priests are not allowed to marry. As part of the "vetting" process for suitability for priesthood, nuns interview prospective priests to decide if they are suited to a celebate life. The result of this is that the nuns were inclined to select gay priests as they were, obviously, very unlikely to want to get married. As a result, it has been estimated that 30% of Catholic priests are gay - although that figure is pretty much an educated guess.
The Church of England allows for the ordination of gay priests as long as they are celibate.
Roman Catholic AnswerDon't be disgusting, of course not.
No they were not priests at all. As the temple was not there then.
Some priests or pastors usually look at homosexuality or bisexuality as being a sin. Others feel that people are just people, no matter what, because God loves all of his creations, gay or straight.
It identifies as neither Catholic nor Protestant, but following a "via media"--a middle way. Women priests and gay priests are allowed. The Queen is the head of the church.
Yes, all Catholic priests of any order can consecrate (it is not called "to bless") bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ
all Jewish men are commanded to marry. Including priests
No, all the presidents are not gay.
No, they are not all gay.
Priests and nuns can all be referred to as members of a religious order, and as people who have taken vows of obedience to that order.
