What makes books interesting?

Books are a window to everywhere I cannot go. If I am feeling silly, there's Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. If I want to go to outer space, there's the Foundation series. If I want to visit Napoleon's France, there's Desiree. The Russian Revolution? There's books for that. Plus the library has books that I don't have to buy! I can read it and if I don't like it, I didn't buy it...I just give it back. If I like it, I can go get one of my own. I get to use my imagination! I can "see" in my mind what a pink smoke tree looks like, and a three headed lizard. I can go to Mars! I can become a great artist like Michealagelo. I can climb Mt. Everest! And I can do it all with a bag of chips and a coke in my pajamas. The greatest gift I get is a book that I haven't read. Why don't you start small and read a magazine? The beginnings of books are there. Did you know that Sherlock Holmes stories were once in magazines? That's how the books started out. So that's why I like books.
