There are many causes to why bats have become endangered. A new cause is the White Nose Syndrome. The WNS is a fungal disease that grows around the muzzles of bats and suffocates it. It has also been known to grow on the wings of bats. When bast hibernate they sleep in caves and cold, damp areas. The fungus scientists think, grow when the bats hibernate and kill them in their sleep. The WNS has been killing bats by the thousands. This has caused ecosystems and environments to become unbalanced. No one has a cause or a solution to the WNS. The loss of bats leads to overpopulation of insects that can destroy crops and spread disease.
Other causes of bat endangerment is people who choose to kill bats out of ignorance. Farmers kill bats using poison because they think it is harming their crops when in turn, bats are really helping their crops.
Another cause is deforestation. When trees are removed from an area the bats loose their home. Many bats have died because of this. Did you know that without bats you wouldn't be able to eat bananas, or pomegranates ever again? Bats fertilize and eat nectar from many fruits keeping the ecosystem healthy.
You can help save the bats by building bat houses. You can simply go to any search engine and type 'bat houses' and you can learn how to save these creatures from further harm.
Wrinkle faced bats (Centurio senex) are not endangered. They are categorized as 'least concern' on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
The principal threat that tropical bats face is habitat loss. A lot of logging is going on in tropical forests, and roosting locations can get destroyed. Another factor could be pollution, like the use of pesticide, that can affect bats health. Finally, direct harm from humans is another threat.
if they are NOT endangered how ARE they endangered try figuring ou that one huh huh huh
According to the Federal Register, the Indiana bat population is declining because of disturbance by human beings, pesticide use and loss of summer habitat. And because of the use of their fur
In most cases where a bat species is endangered it is due to lack of environment. For example, when forests are destroyed, the fruit bat no longer has a home or food and is endangered.
