Well simply some owners start to bathe cats when adult because they smell are dirty etc so the cat never got a bathe when it was a kitten so it is not used to it however this may not be the complete cause some cats love water and some may have bad experiences of it and be unfamiliar. For example humans are scared of some things to. So it all depends on your cats personality and spices. :)
