Not all cheating husbands are mean. There could be a number of reasons why a spouse that is cheating is being mean. I can't accurately answer this because it would call for a lot of speculation on my part. I think the best thing to do is to sit down and speak with the cheating spouse about the bitterness. Now if he's a cheat, than you can't expect full honesty from him. What you can do, though, is speak with him and follow your gut. What ever your perception tells you from the conversation should confirm why he's mean.
