A computer cannot read data from sensors directly because the signals received from the sensors come as analogue signals which, a computer cannot read. It requires a converter to convert the signals in to digital signals so the computer can be able to read it.

Because, sensor only reads analog data.

Analog data then converted by ADC to become a digital data which can be seen in your computer.

What is found in a computer scanner?

They usually contain either a contact image sensor or a charge coupled device and a means to move the sensor or optics pointed at the sensor. There would also be a light source as well in the case of the CCD technology. Then there would be a circuit board to make sense of the signals and send it to the computer.

2000 mbz ml320 where do the ground wires from the 2nd o2 sensors heater wires connect do they ground to the body or through the computer if they connect to the computer which pins on which computer?

On the Mercedes ml320 you should be able to ground the o2 sensor to the body of the car. Just find an unpainted section and stick its ground wire on. If this does not work, try adding an isolation capacitor between the grounding pin and chassis as well. If this still doesn't work, got to the dealer.

The kind of information stored in a product's bar code?

The different bars reflect the scanners light differently and a sensor in the scanner interprets the different reflections which it translates into a number. Usually the number is also printed under the barcode so if the scanner cannot read it an employee can type it in manually. The number is the code that the store's computers can look up which tells its price and other information about it to the computer, automatically adding it to the purchase. Bar codes are designed to speed up checkouts so that an employee does not have to type in 100 ten-digit numbers.

What is the problem if the compiter shut down after 2 min?

Well a couple of things usually will cause a computer to shutdown in that amount of time, first your power supply, or a temp sensor, thus a overheating cpu. To complicate matters Windows xp (before sp1) had issues with the network stack that could cause an overflow, and cause the computer to shutdown. These are the main things that may cause a computer to just shutdown, as vaug as that is. If you in need of more help, please send an email at aerowize @ yahoo dot com -Rob

How do you translate an image into binary?

I don't know how people would do it, but programs on a modern computer are designed to take different hues of a colour and translate into numbers. Let us say that I am scanning an image of a rainbow. I happen to know from a previous computer course, and my private studies, that a computer is programmed to "know" hundreds of colours(different blues, reds, etc). I believe black is #0000. Through a light sensor, the scanner takes each fragment of the image, I believe each the size of a pixel, and matches it with the appropriate colour in it's memory, thus reproducing the image.

Does your o2 sensors control your idle?

Not directly. The oxygen sensor measures oxygen levels in the exhaust. The computer uses that to calculate fuel and spark timing. Where is the computer sensor located in a 2004 Mercury Monterrey?

There are many sensors sending information to the computer. You need to be more specific.

What can you do to keep your Ford Explorer from cutting off while driving until oxygen sensor is replaced?

Nothing. The sensor is feeding false information to the computer and the computer reacts to whatever the sensor is telling it. Unplugging the sensor won't help, because the computer will still be getting weird information, although I suppose it might allow the car to run in some weird fashion, like giving you 3mpg or something.

I have a 1999 Ford escort zx2 with manual tran's. it has a rough idle but when you disconnect the cam sensor it runs fine. what is the cause?

Sounds like the sensor is bad. The sensor may be sending bad data to the computer. The computer assumes that the information is correct. The computer then uses this bad information to calculate fuel delivery, etc., therefore causing poor performance. By unplugging the sensor, computer receives no data, the computer relies on data from other inputs/stored data to calculate proper output values. Try replacing the sensor. Hope this helps. What is an O2 sensor?

An O2 (oxygen) sensor measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust of an engine. The computer uses this information to calculate how much fuel to give the engine.

Where would you find the o2 sensor on a 1998 Volvo s70?

Upstream O2 sensor is located on the first muffler pipe coming out of the engine. This sensor can be found after you open the whood and look directly behind the engine. The sensor is connected to a wire and will end on electric connection to your computer.

What is a sensor device?

a device that measures something, it implies that the information is sent someplace. (perhaps the computer that runs your car)

What does 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe Camshaft Position Sensor do?

A camshaft position sensor reads the location of the camshaft and sends that information the engine computer. This is needed for fuel and ignition timing.

Your 1992 Saturn's odometer trip odometer and tach have stopped operating Are they related to the speed sensor?

not directly... The tach gets its signal from the crankshaft sensor. the signal is processed by the computer where it determains spark timing, fuel ratio and other things. information is relayed via wires to the back of your insterment pannel, and are converted into readable units on your tach. Same with the odometer, it gets its signal from the computer via speed sensor. being you lost both functions on your pannel, i would suspect a faulty cluster.

What are symptoms of bad oil sensor?

A bad oil sensor can cause the oil light to come on while pressure is still ok. The sensor could also confuse the computer, causing it to send wrong information to the engine.

How does a crank shaft sensor stop engine running?

The crankshaft sensor is critical to the operation of the engine as it supplies information to the engine management computer. It senses both crankshaft position and engine RPM. If the sensor is defective, or improperly adjusted, then the computer cannot receive the proper signals, and can't keep the engine running.

How do you adjust throttle position sensor?

There is no adjustment, they are electronic. You just replace them.It senses the position of the throttle and sends the information to the computer.
