Only the more liberal-minded rich would usually support the Democrats. The well-off in general however usually supported the Republican Party in the past because of that Party's more conservative stance on most issues and also because the Republicans have fought for a very favorable tax treatment for the rich in recent decades.Today however the Republican Party has swung so far towards an 'anti-Washington' stance - although it's they themselves who have had the majority there - and the Party has so much radicalized in its conservatism generally that its present candidates for the Presidency and their convictions today mostly appeal to a fundamentalist and/or 'redneck' electorate. So the rich and the more moderate other population groups may this time well support the Democrats.
southern sharecroppers. Try the rich. Democrats favor them as well, after a veneer of fairness.
