Because Irish people like green and they have something to do with good luck and so one day a man found a four leaf clover ( he was an Irish man ) and he showed the whole town and that became their tradition.

The four leaf clover is not actually what is associated with Ireland. The three leaf clover, or more commonly known as the shamrock, is a symbol for Ireland because St. Patrick, as you may know from St. Patrick's Day, used the three leaf clover, or shamrock, to explain the Holy Trinity to Pre-Christian people in Ireland during his lifetime.

Four leaf clovers are not as symbol for Ireland; three leaf clovers are. The Three Leaf Clover is a symbol of Ireland because the legend goes that when St. Patrick was converting Ireland he plucked a three leaf clover from the field to represet how the Holy Spirit, God the Father, And Jesus all fit together as one entity. Ireland has to this day remained significantly Catholic and as such they use the symbol of their patron saint to represent their country.

The four leaf clover is a symbol of luck, but not of Ireland.

Why do people use 4 leaf clovers as decorations on St Patrick's day?

If they know anything about Irish culture they don't. A shamrock has three leaves; as in the legend that St Patrick used it as an example of the Holy Trinity. This seems to be a result of combining 'lucky 4-leaf clovers' and 'the luck of the Irish' and is a fairly recent thing.
