Grasslands are protected because they provide essential habitats for a diverse range of plants and animals. They also play a critical role in carbon sequestration and storing water, which helps mitigate climate change and maintain water quality. Additionally, grasslands support agricultural activities and offer opportunities for outdoor recreation and tourism. Protecting grasslands ensures the preservation of these valuable ecosystems and the services they provide.
