As a great dane owner myself and an experienced animal worker, I would have to say that great danes make eccelent pets. They get along great with other animals, but are generally very shy. However, all animals are different, which may result in the occasional mismatch. With my experience with great danes, there is one thing you should know. They are very shy to other animals (but get along) and are very quick to love. They are sometimes nicknamed the verlcro dogs because as you pet them they lean into you.
