It's a very interesting history, but I digress.
Because of the current age we live in, we find that the sensitivity is not such a bad thing. However, as boys grow up in the gender culture that we live in, they still attempt to avoid being viewed as feminine. Some guys grow out of this, some embrace it, some never think twice.

∙ 13y agoWell, they act a little "inappropriate" around females of their age because that's their way of saying "I think you're cute" IF AND ONLY IF they are under 18. If they are over 18, it's their way of saying "This is who I truly am so if you don't like it, back off. If you do like it, hang with me."
