Homeostasis is a term used that refers to the ability of an organism to maintain a relatively stable internal environment so that it can carry on all its metabolic processes to sustain life. If you did not have proper homeostasis, you would die.

Physiological systems can function normally only under carefully controlled conditions.

Actually homeostatic regulation occurs all the time. Your body keeps everything in balance such a blood sugar levels, levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide, etc. Any imbalance is called disease.

Why are wild animals so important?

Yes. Some wild animals help us with controlling the number of rodents that are living in some areas. Sea animals are sometimes used as food. Forest animals are used for hunting, which is NOT important to some people. All wild animals are important because they do something that helps both them and us. Some of the important animals are already extinct because so many of them were either dying out or hunted out. As a result, since we lost that animal's help, that help is no longer rewarded. Wild animals are very important.
