African lions are not endangered; they are considered vulnerable due to habitat loss and conflict with humans, which inevitably, the lions lose.
Lions are endangered because they face the threat of disease caused by global warming. Lions also face poachers, hunting, and poisoning of their species. Lions also are losing their natural habitat to population growth. Fewer than 21,000 are left in Africa.
Shrinking habitat caused by human population growth and expansion.

Lions are endangered due to two main reasons.

1. Loss of habitat - with growing human populations, humans are venturing deeper and deeper into forests in search of land thereby shrinking the lions habitat

2. Hunting - killing and hunting lions was considered a brave mans sport in the early 1990's. This caused a significant demise in lion numbers.
