Metals are exallent conductors of electricity due to the free valence electrons, however some metals can be used for heating to e.g. kettle. Coils in the kettle are large resisters which heat up the water. it comes down to what you actually mean why are metals nat used for heating because some are.

Minerals and metals in a toaster?

A toaster can contain various minerals and metals, such as copper, steel, nickel, chromium, and aluminum. These materials are used in the heating elements, wiring, and casings of the toaster to provide conductivity, heat resistance, and durability. The minerals and metals used in a toaster are chosen for their ability to withstand high temperatures and provide efficient heating for toasting bread.

Why is silver not used in central heating radiators?

Silver is not commonly used in central heating radiators due to its high cost compared to other metals like aluminum, steel, and copper. These metals are more cost-effective and provide good thermal conductivity for efficient heat transfer in radiators. Silver's high price makes it an impractical choice for mass-produced heating systems.

How heating is used to get precious metal?

Heating is used in the process of smelting to extract precious metals from ore. The high temperatures cause the metal to melt and separate from the other materials in the ore, allowing for the isolation and collection of the valuable metal.

What is fire used for everyday?

What do you use to preheat the surface of ferrous metal?

A commonly used method to preheat the surface of ferrous metal is flame heating using a torch. This generates heat quickly and uniformly across the metal surface. Induction heating is another technique that can be used for localized and controlled heating of ferrous metals.

Which metal that when is heated with a Bunsen burned it does not decompose?

What metals can be purified from their ores by heating them with carbon?

Metals such as iron, zinc, lead, and copper can be purified from their ores by heating them with carbon. The carbon reduces the metal oxide to the elemental metal, which can then be separated and purified.
