If there are mushrooms growing in your vermiliad plant, it is a sign that the soil is moist enough to allow them to grow. Vermiliad do not like to sit in water, so if mushrooms are growing in the soil, you are keeping it too moist.

Mushrooms are the fruiting bodies of a fungus. The actual fungus is growing beneath where the mushroom sits.
Q:How do mushrooms obtain their food? A: my best guess is that they get it from what they are growing on. :)
If mushrooms are growing in your ceiling, you have a source of water in your building that is permitting them to grow. That water will damage the building and its contents and perhaps make it structurally unsafe to occupy. The actual mushrooms may, or may not, be a safety hazard but their presence is indicative of a larger problem.
It is impossible to know without properly identifying the mushrooms. Chances are they are not psilocybin active (magic). You need to research how to identify mushrooms and see if yours are psilocybes.
