Nerve cells have to be long enough to extend from where they are located in the body, the hands and feet for example, to the spinal chord or brain. Some nerve cells in a giraffe may be ten feet long. Others may be very short.
They have fibres to send messages from the brain throughout the whole body. Don't get confused with fibers and fibres. They are extremely different. Anyways, the reason why nerve cells have long fibers are because they have to send messages from the brain to other parts of the human body......
BYE!!!!The red blood cells are thin, but rounded, like a bowl for example, to collect more oxygen with more surface area and also its easy to move around in the body. The nerve cell is long and has a tree like structure because it is needed to branch out and transport signals over long distances in a fast amount of time.
The function of the cells and other parts of your body is due to their forms. A red blood cell could not function as it is meant to do if it was long like a nerve cells and axons. Form Follows Function.
With that shape, nerve cells can transmit messages faster.
because to send immediately messages from one part of the body to the brain & vice versa...
Nerve cells are long because from where they are located in the body to where they extend to, every slitest touch has to be felt everywhere around the human body.
In a human nerve cell, branches stick off it. Thats why it is so big/long.
because i dont know
to transmit signals
Ligaments and tendons are made up of collagen fibers. These are very strong organic protein fibers. Weight for weight, they can be compared with steel wires.
As soon as you are cut, platelets in blood form fibers to cause a clot. Then White Blood Cells destroy any pathogens that entered the body when the cut was open. The skin cells slowly reproduce and grow back. Then its impossible to tell you were cut.
The three main components of connective tissue are:Ground substanceExtracellular protein fibersSpecialized cells
A carotid body is a cluster of cells and nerve fibers that is part of the system that regulates oxygen and acidity levels in the blood.
insulin
not directly but there are blood vessels in between fibers and blood cells are in the vessel.

Frog red blood cells contain a nucleus, whereas human red blood cells do not.
Clot
White blood cells are a part of the immune system, they attack and destroy foreign entities in the body. White bloods cells have a nucleus, whereas red blood cells do not.
A possible answer is because white blood cells are only required for when there is a threat to the body, whereas red blood cells are needed constantly for transport of oxygen around the body.

* Red blood cells do not have a nucleus (to save space and allow for higher amounts of haemoglobin), whereas white bloody cells do. * White blood cells protect the body from diseases (either by digesting the 'problem' or by emission of antibodies), whereas red blood cells are simply a means of transporting oxygen and other gases. * Red blood cells tend to have a life span of about 4 months, while white blood cells have a lower life span (which varies between the types of white blood cell). * Red blood cells are smaller than white bloody cells. * Red blood cells have a much higher density within the bloodstream (at 4,000,000-6,000,000 /mm3) than white blood cells (5000-7000 /mm3). ..... I hope this helps :] most of it is probably waffle... (i know i put 5)
Muscle cells are called fibers.
A horseshoe crab. Its blood is actually blue, due to using copper in its blood, whereas most other organisms use iron.
