taking your strings on and off the guitar several times is bad for the strings, its literally impossible to replace pickups without taking them off. another thing is you might have strings that dont sound their best with pickups they arent compatible with
face plate if its a stratocaster shaped guitar. Its there to make changing the pickups and stuff easier. If not pickups because some are white.
they turn the vibrations from the strings into sound out of the amplifier, their like ears.
you hit the strings , they vibrate the vibrations are picked up by the guitar "pickups" the pickups transfer the information to the amplifier and out of the amplifier comes the sound without an amplifier you got a really fancy and quiet acoustic guitar.
Is this electric or acoustic? Changing the strings can give it a brighter sound, try experimenting with different gauge strings. If its electric, pickups can change the sound alot. Effects can also change the sound and what amp you have can also work.
what it it stuck on?
Buying used guitar pickups is something you want to be really careful about. Unless you know the person selling the pickups, and the guitar it (or they) used to be on, it may not be wise to buy them. If the previous user is just changing them because he wants something different, that's one thing, but do you know why he is changing his pickups? Did one go bad for some reason? Unless you know about the condition and quality of the pickups, it may be best to spend the extra money on new pickups.
The tone of a guitar changes as you switch through from lower down pickups to higher up pickups because the guitar strings themselves sound different depending on how close to the center (deep, mellow tones) or to the end (harsh, high-pitched tones with little bass) you strike the strings. This is directly related to the strings vibrating with more side-to-side movement in the middle than they can near the saddle where the grooves in the saddle restrain side-to-side movement.
the pickups on an electric guitar are just magnets. they pickup the vibrations of the strings to make the sound. depending on the position and the magnets, the guitar will get different sounds.
It is called a CAPO. It is used for changing the pitch, NOT THE TUNING of the guitar.
raise the action (string elevation) lower the pickups springs or.. adjust the neck
its very rare to see a manual for a guitar , you can check their website and see what they say. one knob will be volume one will be tone (adjust it and see what it does) there is a switch to select guitar pickups but besides that youtube will make you a pro if its a question of maintenance or changing say strings.
sure go for it , I mean they're just made of copper on the exterior. I used folk music guitar strings wound with silver and silk inside of them on a death metal guitar for a laugh and it worked fine. those strings where called silk and steel by D'Addario the only concern would be if you've got pickups on that guitar because bronze wouldn't pick up as much sound through the pickups magnets as steel or nickel
