Because they love you so much, that if they could have prevented something and didn't and you got hurt or even died, they wouldn't be able to live with themeselves. For example, If you wanted to go to a friends house that lived far away, and she says yes, and you end up doing drugs and OD'ing or get in a car accident cause you and your friends were messing around, it was her choice to let you go. They want you to be safe and and happy, even if that means making you pissed off sometimes :P im only 18, but i can pretty much figure that...

Well- The ultimate excuse that they use is that they love you!! And, while that IS true, there are some other reasons too. Maybe they want to protect you or they want you to continue to be safe. But, the highest reason I've seen of why almost ALL moms are way overprotective is that they don't want to see their little kids growing up! One reason of that is that the older you get- the older THEY feel! So, just remind your mom that you'll always be their little (boy or girl) and express the safety conscious parts of whatever you are wanting to do and they might loosen up a bit and feel better- thus being less protective! :)

That's not tough at all! Parents love their children and don't want them to get hurt. If your parents are over protective, try to look at it this way:

"Gee, my parents must really love me. I guess the only way to repay them is to do what they say the first time they say it. Maybe then we'll be a great family. And, we'll get along better. Oh, and if I do, maybe my parents will loosen their grip on me."

You'll soon see cooperative families tend to trust each other a lot more.

Most of the times parents are over protective is because they probably had a bad childhood or terrible experience when they were a young child like you. You have to understand your parents truly love you. There are some who leave there children with strangers, let them become hoodlums and have a mind of there own. They just want you to have a positive future. If you don't learn now you never will. You want to be 33 and have to learn to become a mature adult?

  • The reason that good parents are overprotective is because of the crime rate and other dangers out in society. Some teens may feel they know all they need to know to survive, but once away from the safety of the home it is another story. Many teens are not as street wise as they think they are. Children are kidnapped; some never return home; others are used for pornography. Teens are often hit on and find themselves in prostitution rings or get themselves into trouble dealing drugs. Parents have lived a lot longer than their children and know the trouble their children can get into so any child (young or in their teens) that think their parents are overprotective they should be thankful they are love and care enough to take the time to keep their child safe.

What if the child of 12 is being left alone with brothers and sisters under the age of 7?

The situation should be reported to the child protective services. The parent may need help and they need to be informed about child endangerment. What help is available to minor children in care of abusive parent in al?

Not much, sadly. Child Protective Services (CPS) May Not be the Best or Worst call. If the authorities are notified of child abuse, Child Protective Services can do an investigation. If evidence is produced, the children will be removed from home and sent into the "system" then the children will soon be with a foster parent/s. The children will not necessarily stay together (foster parent/s maybe other family members of the children or complete strangers) depending on if any other family members have gone to court to fight for the children. However, CPS doesn't necessarily care about the well being of the children, they just have a job to do. So, Either way, this may or may NOT be a safer way out for the children.Love, Faith, Prayer and you!

How does Gerber market to children?

To be honest, I think Gerber markets more to parents by advertising on children's programming that parent's may be watching with their children. Gerber markets products that are for children at an age where a parent is more likely to be present during the advertisement being they are toddlers requiring supervision.
