Communism ideally promotes equality. This sort of a political system is highly appealing to the general public because it puts everyone at par despite differences in their social standing.Communism is also anti tyranny and anti monarchy, which does put a lot of people at ease as they can embrace their liberty and individuality.Communism aims at a self governed society in which wealth is uniformly distributed.
this isn't tru they only do it because they have to or else they will get killed
Because they may have been influenced by their friends of family or country. That might be what they have been brought up to believe. If they are very poor then they would support communism because then that means that the riches of the country and all of the land and properties would be shared out between everybody, so they would have somewhere to live and their own land and they would be equal to everybody else- not looked down upon. This is a much better way of life than working long, hard hours with no home or belongings and getting paid hardly anything. The capitalists would not be happy with this though because this means that all of there riches are going to be shared out between everyone in the country.

Communism is a alternative way of thinking a government should govern. In its original form, communism is not bad. Marx really thought that communism was the answer to the problems they were facing at the time. He thought that once a government reached this 'heaven' there would be no problems. True communism is an ideal that is impossible to reach. I think, depends too much on people to do the 'right' thing for it to really work. So, it's not communism people are afraid of but the way communism has been used by certain people in history. The way communism has been used in the past is through Dictatorship. So when people say they don't like or are afraid of communism, they're usually refering to the loss of individuality, fair trade, and freedom that has been the key features of how communism has been used.
I'm not advocating communism, I'm just saying that its an idea that had good intentions in its original form. It's the people that used it for their own purposes that gave it the aura of bad and something to fear. Even Marx couldn't describe communism in its end form, he only showed the steps to how to get there.
