Because people have been brainwashed by the media and politicians into believing that there are gangs of pedophiles roaming the streets in search of 5 year old children to rape. The truth is that most children, who are molested, are molested by family members, or close family friends, and being a registered sex offender does not by default mean you are a child molester or even a danger. People are stupid, they believe what they are told instead of checking the facts.

There is a great deal of outright lies regarding registered sex offenders. The most common lie is that someone convicted of a sex offense is at a very high risk to re offend. The reality is that the majority will not, but it serves the goals of the media and politicians to push it.

In short, people are afraid of sex offenders because they have been told to be by dishonest people who have their own agendas.

No, who would want sex offenders to be in public 99% out of 100% girls are raped every day. So to srop this we need to keep all sex offenders out of this state.
