So many reasons! Some legitimate, some not, some a blend of the two. In short: Christians who proclaim to believe in Christ as Saviour and The Bible as the Word of God, but in practice live their lives in such a manner that contradict and disrepute its validity in the eyes of those who don't believe. That falls in many categories, Christians who proclaim belief in Christ and the Bible who lie, cheat, treat people poorly etc,. People don't want accountability to a Holy God. They want control of their lives to do what they want to do, when they want to do it, and don't want there to be a God to which they will have to one day answer to, in how they lived their lives. What they don't consider fully, is that all of that which they want to hold on to, control, that God would see changed in them, are the very things that will and are destroying them and those around them. From a secular standpoint.... The hatred for Christians can be attributed to several causes: 1. Christians have a different belief system than (insert appropriate religion here). 2. Anything different is often feared and hated. This is often propagated by religious leaders attempting to cement their hold on their adherants. 3. Christians perpetrated recorded atrocities against other religious/ethnic people over the centuries. (No need to argue who did what, read the question) 4. Scapegoats.

∙ 14y agoBecause they do not want to believe and have to fear something greater than them. Also, it's a major need to "fit in"with the liberal crowd. Some people consider God illogical, but I consider nothing being made out of nothing absurd and just plain stupid. Some also have horrible lives (which they blame on God), were treated bad at a Catholic school, etc.
Even though some idiots still believe in this, it is disproved more and more every year. So stay with the smart side :)
