The manatee is an air breathing mammal that lives in the water. They are slow moving creatures who swim just under the surface of the water, with their nostrils just above the surface of the water so they can breathe air. People run them over (accidentally of course), with the propellers of their boats and cut them to pieces.
The manatee has no enemies because how big it is
humans and boats
The manatee has no natural enemies, other than man, and has no real defense against this predator.
There are no natural enemies of the manatee for they do not share waters with sharks. One of the unnatural enemies are motor boats!
its illegal to hunt it, if they find a manatee near by you have to go 10mph or lower to near it, also many zookeepers are setting up manatee refuges so people know not to boat by them.
People are scared of them because they are very big. A manatee would never hurt a human though.
Manatees do not have any natural enemies. They're only enemy is man. They are sometimes seriously injured by propellers of passing boats. The part of the boat that makes the boat move cuts into the manatee, and people even drive over them. Also, when people pollute the manatees can get killed by the trash. They can eat a soda can or other piece of trash, or get tangled in it, where the manatee cannot swim or maybe even breathe.
There are 3 species of manatee. There is the West Indian manatee, the Amazonian manatee, and the Florida manatee.
The plural form of manatee would be manatee!
